Donations and Financial Contributions
The Cherokee County NAACP Branch is a nonprofit organization whose members work to promote civil rights and social justice within the community. We aspire to create a footprint in the community not only through our advocacy work, but also by our philanthropic contributions to our community.
We encourage the financial support of corporations, companies, families, private trusts, and individuals wishing to join us in this initiative to honor and assist those who are the future of the Cherokee County community.
Please contact us if you wish to contribute to the STEM Scholarship Program via donations or financial contributions or if you have any questions about any phase of the NAACP's work to assist students living in Cherokee County.
Inaugural Year
In its inaugural year, scholarships (in the form of laptop computers) were awarded to one graduating senior from each of Cherokee County School District’s seven high schools. Scholarships were funded via a grant sponsored by OxBlue Foundation.
Finalists were selected from a pool of applicants based on their academic performance, character, educational and career goals, and interviews.
